I've tried to do some searching on this - but can't seem to get a definitive answer... (And as the joke goes, I'm not a DBA, but play one on TV)
I'm doing TFS consulting for the first time at a client without a dedicated DBA group - so I'm responsible to make sure all the appropriate "Management Plans" are in effect. There's plenty of "Guidance" on the MSDN site for TFS regarding backups (if anyone from Microsoft is reading this - it doesn't mention the "Maintenance Clean-up Task" to delete old backups which might be a good idea to mention")... In talking to my DBA resource at my firm - he usually will have maintenance tasks, generally weekly, to ensure statistics are up-to-date and rebuild the indexes. I've noticed the TFS Install does add a SQLAgent job for TFSIntegration to Re-index the database, but don't see anything regarding statistics and for the other databases. Is there a "definitive" answer on whether this (or any other DB "Maintenance" is needed/advised for TFS Thanks Daniel Sniderman Senior Consultant mobile: 847 668-4882 Magenic Microsoft Worldwide Partner of the Year | Custom Development Solutions, Technical Innovation -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- List address: [email protected] Subscribe: [email protected] Unsubscribe: [email protected] List FAQ: http://www.codify.com/lists/oztfs Other lists you might want to join: http://www.codify.com/lists
