Clint - if you create a new Team Project using the 'Visual Studio Scrum'
process template, does it still have the same issue with the Assigned To
dropdown?

If there's not an issue with that project, then it means that there is
something messed up with your Work Item Types. Can you export one of them using
'witadmin exportwitd' and send it to me.

If there is still an issue with that new project, then we need to dig deeper -
opening a case with MS Support will probably be the fastest resolution. You can
delete the project afterwards from a Developer Command Prompt and running
'tfsdeleteproject.exe'

Hi Stephen,

I followed the instructions in the installation TFSInstall guide, under "TFS
Application Tier Will Use Different Hardware Then it's Using Right Now".

The machines are in the same domain, we upgraded from an old physical box to a
new virtual machine, and we went from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server
2012 at the same time. The the services were installed using the same accounts
as they were originally. There were no issues that I can remember from the
process for the actual upgrade. (migrating build servers and process afterwards
was and still is a pain, but that's unrelated).

Thanks

Hi Clint,

Could you give us some context around the migration/upgrade? Are the machines
in two different domains? What approach did you take? Did you have any issues
along the way?

Cheers,
Steve.

Subject: TFS Updade - Assigned to drop down emtpy

Hi all,

We did a migration\upgrade of tfs 2008 to tfs 2012 the other week. To a bit of
effort but got there in the end. This morning I needed to create a new work
item and no names are appearing in the Assigned To drop down. Now we have users
in the team project, but they don't show here.

Anyone have any ideas, I have a bad feeling it might be due to the very old
process template being used (cmmi v4.0), I've been looking at options to
migrate the process template, but they all seem pretty nasty and I'm getting a
bit overwhelmed at the moment. Is it like to be another setting somewhere? I am
really struggling to find anything with the new 2012 interfaces.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
