Well yeah! I tried using column MidWidth and it works in both WPF and Silverlight? I would have tried that years ago in WPF and Silverlight and I recall it didn't work. Perhaps I set the MinWidth of the thing beside the splitter and not the column itself. I can't remember now. And today I searched for words like "WPF splitter minimum width" and various combinations and got nothing useful, no one specifically mentioned MinWidth or MinHeight. Oh well, at least the problem is solved in a blindingly obvious way -- thanks, Greg
