Hey Stephen,

I hope you'll forgive me for sharing my answer to your question
publicly.

2.6 has been ready to go for some time. But it has needed me to stop
moving and be in one place long enough to do the last and final
bits. I have stopped, and have done the last bits. I expect to update
the webpages today and upload 2.6.

I no longer have any business contracts that give me any reason to
work on XML, so maintaining an XML parser has become a very low
priority for me. Unless I get another business contract that involves
Xerces, then 2.6 is likely to be as far as I go with Xerces.

I'm happy to help someone take over the project. There is only one
minor obstacle: you need a custom patch to SWIG that I maintain to
handle Xerces. It's a very small thing, but otherwise it won't work.

Cheers,
jas.
