We did this with the framework and branches, but instead of deleting we
converted the branch into a tag just in case someone needed to go back and
find the last commit it would still be there.

The git p2 repo contains a lot of very old branches that resulted from
branches that were created in CVS.  All of this work has probably been
folded back in HEAD at the time, and if not is probably way out-of-date,
which in both case means that it is useless.

To help us see more clearly what is going on, what do you think about
deleting all the branches that have not been touched in the last 3/4
months, to the exception of course of the R*
