Regarding the b3 aggregator - it is not abandoned, but there is no active 
development of new features unless someone has a pressing need.
The aggregator is used quite a lot during the assembly of the release train, 
and whenever there has been issues they have been fixed without much delay. 

Overall, I think it works pretty well :)
