Hello Portal 2 Mappers,
please excuse if I'm using the mailing list incorrectly. I've been lurking for 
awhile.
I'm trying to build a diversity vent because, for the first time, I need to 
bring up some weighted cubes from beneath the floor, rather than trusting 
gravity to bring them to me.
I've set up a brush-entity volume following the length of the diversity vent 
and the spawn-point of the weighted cube, and I have the brush-entity covered 
in a Trigger skin set to a "trigger_push" with force 1500 (per 
http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Diversity_Vent).
And yet the cubes refuse to do anything once spawned. Although I've lurked for 
a lot longer, I've only actually been map-building for about a week and a half. 
Can anyone offer advice?

Have you tried to add an output to tell the trigger_push to push?  I don't 
think it will do it on its own.   Did you make sure that the push angle is 
set to Up?
Also check that your trigger_push has its Flags set for Physics Objects.  It 
should work, hope this helps.

Have you set the flag that it should push physics objects ? Also you 
can't have a push trigger that is too long because it will only push ad 
the starting edge, if it's a very long confined space that you want to 
pull them up from you better make several triggers on top of eachother.. 
If it's just from the floor to the entry of the tube, one will suffice 
and then you can place one push entity that sits inside the corner of 
the tube to direct the cube inwards. (make sure that in the event that 
you use point_push , you set it's flag that it determines the push 
direction from the angle)
