Subject: Article: There is nothing to celebrate after Sunday’s elections in
Greece
To:

Dear friends,

find below a link to my take on on the results of Sunday's elections. For
their own reasons, European leftists are justified to celebrate Syriza's
victory. However in Greece, the social movements are demobilised and
unprepared to confront the new wave of austerity measures. High abstention
is a sign of social disenchantment and loss of faith in representative
democracy. Far from being a moment of celebration, this situation calls for
critical reflection, both within the left and within the social movements.
