Subject: Re: [p2p-hackers] Hi, question about kademlia bucket split
There are at least two versions of this paper on the Web with the same
authors and title. One runs to six pages and can be found at, for
example,
http://www.cs.rice.edu/Conferences/IPTPS02/109.pdf
The other is thirteen pages long and is available under variations
of the name maymounkov02kademlia.pdf, for example through
http://citeseer.ist.psu.edu/maymounkov02kademlia.html
Neither paper has a date internally.
Just for correct historical record, the thirteen page paper is the LNCS
"post-proceedings" follow-up to the 6-page IPTPS workshop paper. It may
be considered authoritative over the earlier workshop version, e.g., it's
the only one Petar currently lists on his web page:
http://www.petar.info/
(How do I know? Petar and I shared an office at NYU. Which is also why
Coral's DSHT algorithm is based on Kademlia.)
Cheers,
