Ah, fantastic!  Does your mystery source by chance have any large-scale
statistics on peer connectivity?  Given any two random peers, what's the
probability they can establish a direct (non-relayed) connection through
NATs and firewalls?  (Or is this deployment in a private network without
NATs?)
