The IETF recently approved the P2PSIP working group and we recently launched a p2pSIP opensource sourceforge project to develop an opensource p2psip platform which would follow the guidelines of the IETF p2psip wg. This means that in the future everyone would be able to benefit for a p2psip infrastructure with the same or better scalability and functionality as Skype, with one significant difference.
