Hi all I am new to this list so please :-) I am implementing a system in kademlia and as I have never used it before I wonder if you can help a little to start me off.
I am looking to store files on machines with ranking implemented and perhaps in timezones so perhaps we look for a file so we look at the hash of the filename on the net and there we find the location tuple of the actual host with the file on it. On saving a file we look for a machine with a certain TZ and of a certain rank to store the file on. So questions are (sounds stupid but) How do I actually store the file ? What if the nodes holding the pointer to the file disappear ? Can I make several copies of the pointer to confirm there ok ? HOw can I get nodes to broadcast their timezone or other info such as rank - type of node etc. ? I hope that you can help me with these initial questions.
