eh, that talk is well worn, and it's not anything you all don't already know.

i'm glad to hear the hack fest picked up later. before we left, we did talk 
about amazon's simpledb for a bit, which was much more interesting than 
sharding dbs, and inspired me to throw together a quick writeup:

it's almost certainly based on amazon's dynamo, a DHT that was mentioned here 
a while back. personally, i'm more intrigued in the fact that the interface is 
based on tuplespaces, but that's just me. :P
