Yeah, but reading about this "new" idea must have given you a nice  
feeling of deja vu, right?  :)

For the sake of completeness, it is possible to do this but I have  
serious doubts that this is really what is happening.  Private  
publication is pretty easy, using something not too far removed from a  
simple mix network to push data blocks out and then once they reach  
the end of the mix chain the final node forwards the blocsk on to  
their proper place within the DHT.  For the download side you need to  
use private information retrieval: create PIR request tickets and send  
them out to the data storage nodes, with the data being combined on  
the client side.  For bonus points, there is even a way to do this  
that only requires the downloader to pull down 1X of the data file but  
still prevent all but a complete collusion among the data servers from  
being able to know what was actually downloaded.
