Heh, totally agree. Everything in modern computer graphics, P2P, and AI was invented back in the 70's -- it's just been waiting for the world to catch up. My favorite was when the computer graphics industry realized the awesomeness of quaternions: they started popping up everywhere one day despite being discovered in 1843.
