Hi,

It's been quite busy since I posted the announcement about Glynx here as
we got a bunch of press elsewhere as well. I'll try to answer the
comments and questions raised on this list.

Will, you are right. The download link was hosed - but is now OK.
Also, the question of trust is an important one. Basically, to a
certain extent, while the app is closed source, we are open to the
charge that we're no different to the other social networking services.
Except that we say we're not interested in your information. Loudly.
(Whereas FB, linkedin etc. have business models based on exploiting this
knowledge and weasle-words TOS). And so our business reputation is on
the line by saying we don't touch your info. We' also don't want to be
in the position of having to supply info if asked by a govt agency for
example...

Skimh, We have considered the open source path, (and in fact parts of
Glynx are or will be opened) but we need to arrive at a sustainable
business model for us to go all the way.

Ed, I'm not sure I understand the similarity between us and
http://TwitR.Me . Unless I'm wrong, they appear to be a hosted broker
or aggregator of other messaging services. All of whom (twitter
included) know about you and your relationships. We aggregate (and will
soon be doing messaging stuff) on the end user device. Which we
believe is the appropriate place to be doing so.

And finally Marc, I'm sorry you had a crash (we do have an outstanding
issue with imports of very large data sets). It should have restarted
though. Your data is stored in the <home directory>/.glynx folder in
an encrypted database. You can currently export your contact info data
to XML or VCard.

Thanks for the feedback. It all helps and we appreciate it.

Regards,

Greg.
