I'm not sure we want to walk down the road of picking _one_ _implementation_. 
If we do that I don't want to be around when we get to pick the one 
templating system to match JSP...

One possibly sane approach would be to use something similar to what JAXP 
does, ie make implementations pluggable behind a common API. Of course, for 
JAXP it's easier because what is plugged also supports the same APIs, but I 
think we can work around that.

I'll probably be dropping an RFC for PAXP (the Perl port) here early next 
week.
