Stephen, This is fine. I re-examined my web-based homework system in the eyes of p5ee http://sourceforge.net/projects/psphw/ I am finding the potential benefits of p5ee.
If widget works somewhat like entity bean, there are lots of business objects in my app can be represented by widgets. (some are purely logical business objects and some will have web-rendering capability) This will replace many Mason components, hopefully in a cleaner way. Although technically, the integration may not be straightforward (Apache->mod_perl->Mason->P5EE) or (Apache->mod_perl->P5EE->Mason) I am seeing a lot of potential.
