Yes. SNMP is the ONLY standard in network management protocol, i.e. to get the 
date over the wire from here to there.

So my excuses are: OpenNMS, nagios, HPOV, Spectrum, Tivoli, munin, Cacti, NeD 
and Zabbix also, of course.
