-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2010-4084 2010-03-10 05:19:18 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : fcron Product : Fedora 13 Version : 3.0.5 Release : 1.fc13 URL : http://fcron.free.fr/ Summary : A task scheduler Description : Fcron is a scheduler. It aims at replacing Vixie Cron, so it implements most of its functionalities. But contrary to Vixie Cron, fcron does not need your system to be up 7 days a week, 24 hours a day: it also works well with systems which are not running neither all the time nor regularly (contrary to anacrontab). In other words, fcron does both the job of Vixie Cron and anacron, but does even more and better :)) ... WARNING: fcron isn't started automatically on boot after installation. You can use system-config-services to enable automatic fcron startup on boot, or use chkconfig as explained in the /usr/share/doc/fcron-3.0.5/README.Package file. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: Rebased fcron, this new version is mostly bugfixing, see referenced bug. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #570381 - CVE-2010-0792 fcron: unauthorized disclosure of user crontabs https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=570381 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "yum" update program. Use su -c 'yum update fcron' at the command line. For more information, refer to "Managing Software with yum", available at http://docs.fedoraproject.org/yum/.
