-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2016-a9b71dd3e7 2016-10-11 15:42:43.080074 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : calamares Product : Fedora 24 Version : 2.4.1 Release : 3.fc24 URL : https://calamares.io/ Summary : Installer from a live CD/DVD/USB to disk Description : Calamares is a distribution-independent installer framework, designed to install from a live CD/DVD/USB environment to a hard disk. It includes a graphical installation program based on Qt 5. This package includes the Calamares framework and the required configuration files to produce a working replacement for Anaconda's liveinst. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: An update of Calamares to the latest upstream release, version 2.4.1. This update brings many improvements compared to the version 1.1.4.2 previously in Fedora, in particular: * a reworked partitioning module with an improved user interface, using the system `kpmcore` library that was split out of the KDE Partition Manager instead of a fork of KDE Partition Manager code, * a new `netinstall` module which offers a choice of packages to install (installed but not enabled by default, because it needs a YAML config file listing the package groups to offer, which will necessarily depend on the individual spin/remix), * a new optional `interactiveterminal` module (`calamares-interactiveterminal` subpackage, not enabled by default) that embeds Konsole, * the optional `webview` module (`calamares-webview` subpackage, not enabled by default) now uses QtWebEngine instead of QtWebKit (on architectures where QtWebEngine is supported), * many bug fixes and improvements in several modules, * a new icon for Calamares, used both in the menu entry (`.desktop` file) and within the application. Use su -c 'yum update calamares' at the command line. For more information, refer to "Managing Software with yum", available at https://docs.fedoraproject.org/yum/.
