Logrotate allows for the automatic rotation compression, removal and mailing of log files. Logrotate can be set to handle a log file daily, weekly, monthly or when the log file gets to a certain size. Normally, logrotate runs as a daily cron job. Install the logrotate package if you need a utility to deal with the log files on your system. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: - Fixed accident removal of rotated files with dateext. - Line comments inside globs in config files are now skipped. - logrotate now recovers from a corrupted state file. - createolddir now creates old directory as unprivileged user. - weekly rotations are now predictable and configurable. - Errors in config files are no longer treated as fatal errors. - Fixed heap buffer overflow when parsing crafted config file. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "dnf" update program.
