-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2010-18643 2010-12-07 19:50:23 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : gridengine Product : Fedora 14 Version : 6.2u5 Release : 6.fc14 URL : http://gridengine.sunsource.net/ Summary : Grid Engine - Distributed Computing Management software Description : In a typical network that does not have distributed resource management software, workstations and servers are used from 5% to 20% of the time. Even technical servers are generally less than fully utilized. This means that there are a lot of cycles that can be used productively if only users know where they are, can capture them, and put them to work. Grid Engine finds a pool of idle resources and harnesses it productively, so an organization gets as much as five to ten times the usable power out of systems on the network. That can increase utilization to as much as 98%. Grid Engine software aggregates available compute resources and delivers compute power as a network service. These are the local files shared by both the qmaster and execd daemons. You must install this package in order to use any one of them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Mon Dec 6 2010 Orion Poplawski <[email protected]> 6.2u5-6 - Add Requires: xorg-x11-fonts-ISO8859-1-100dpi xorg-x11-fonts-ISO8859-1-75dpi to qmon package (bug 657406) - Add patch to fix issue with hostnames (bug 654943) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #657406 - gridengine-qmon has dependency on two font packages that are not in the rpm dependency list https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=657406 [ 2 ] Bug #654943 - Grid Engine configuration script inst_sge fails in Fedora 13, 14, and RHEL6 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=654943 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "yum" update program.
