-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2011-4599 2011-04-02 05:54:09 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : systemd Product : Fedora 15 Version : 22 Release : 1.fc15 URL : http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd Summary : A System and Service Manager Description : systemd is a system and service manager for Linux, compatible with SysV and LSB init scripts. systemd provides aggressive parallelization capabilities, uses socket and D-Bus activation for starting services, offers on-demand starting of daemons, keeps track of processes using Linux cgroups, supports snapshotting and restoring of the system state, maintains mount and automount points and implements an elaborate transactional dependency-based service control logic. It can work as a drop-in replacement for sysvinit. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: Fixes certain widely reported SELinux regarding /run, when used with the newest SELinux policy packages. Quite a number of bugfixes, especially in the context of GNOME3/Plymouth compat. This update removes untranslated messages like "Rebooting..." that systemd was sending to plymouth. Use selinux-policy-3.9.16-10.fc15 with this! (Bodhi always crashes if I add selinux-policy-3.9.16-10.fc15 to the ticket... sorry, for now: ignore what the ticket says in the header and use 3.9.16-10!) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #692459 - SELinux is preventing /usr/sbin/bluetoothd from 'setattr' accesses on the sock_file sdp. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=692459 [ 2 ] Bug #692436 - Incorrect SELinux labelling of new /run directory prevents system boot https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=692436 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "yum" update program. Use su -c 'yum update systemd' at the command line. For more information, refer to "Managing Software with yum", available at http://docs.fedoraproject.org/yum/.
