-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2011-11414 2011-08-23 20:17:28 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : wine Product : Fedora 16 Version : 1.3.26 Release : 3.fc16 URL : http://www.winehq.org/ Summary : A Windows 16/32/64 bit emulator Description : While Wine is usually thought of as a Windows(TM) emulator, the Wine developers would prefer that users thought of Wine as a Windows compatibility layer for UNIX. This package includes a program loader, which allows unmodified Windows 3.x/9x/NT binaries to run on x86 and x86_64 Unixes. Wine does not require MS Windows, but it can use native system .dll files if they are available. In Fedora wine is a meta-package which will install everything needed for wine to work smoothly. Smaller setups can be achieved by installing some of the wine-* sub packages. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: * Various improvements to the builtin Internet Explorer. * Support for Get/SetDIBits in the DIB engine. * Support for enhanced metafiles in the View tool. * Many improvements in WinHTTP. * A number of fixes to the COM stubless marshaller. * Improved mechanism for DLL registrations. * Rewrite of the audio support, using the Win7 architecture. * Old-style sound drivers for Jack, NAS and ESD are removed. * Graphics driver architecture changes for the DIB engine. * Improved handling of the shell recycle bin. * Better joystick support in DirectInput. * Initial stub for VBScript support. * Various bug fixes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #712755 - Wine doesn't detect cdrom under Fedora 15 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=712755 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "yum" update program.
