Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2012-0460
2012-01-14 03:36:28
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name : mdadm
Product : Fedora 16
Version : 3.2.3
Release : 3.fc16
URL : http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/raid/mdadm/
Summary : The mdadm program controls Linux md devices (software RAID arrays)
Description :
The mdadm program is used to create, manage, and monitor Linux MD (software
RAID) devices. As such, it provides similar functionality to the raidtools
package. However, mdadm is a single program, and it can perform
almost all functions without a configuration file, though a configuration
file can be used to help with some common tasks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:

This is an update to the mdadm package.

It fixes a problem where mdadm did not retry when removing of a disk from an
IMSM container fails with a busy error.

All users of mdadm, in particular users of IMSM (BIOS) based RAIDs, are
recommended to update.

If your root device is located on an IMSM RAID, please make sure to rebuild
your initramfs, before rebooting the system.
This is an update to the mdadm package, based on the latest upstream release,
mdadm-3.2.3, which fixes a large number of bugs.

Notably it fixes a problem where mdadm would try to assemble degraded IMSM
RAIDs prematurely.

All users of mdadm RAIDs are encouraged to upgrade.

(updated release note to correct an error in the bugzilla references)
