Name : slim Product : Fedora 42 Version : 1.4.0 Release : 11.fc42 URL : https://sourceforge.net/projects/slim-fork/ Summary : Simple Login Manager Description : SLiM (Simple Login Manager) is a graphical login manager for X11. It aims to be simple, fast and independent from the various desktop environments. SLiM is based on latest stable release of Login.app by Per Lidén. In the distribution, slim may be called through a wrapper, slim-dynwm, which determines the available window managers using the freedesktop information and modifies the slim configuration file accordingly, before launching slim. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: Two main updates are included here: in the first case, we create a desktop backgrounds from the jxl file provided by fedora in order for slim to be able to load the file upon invocation. In the second case, we have removed the /var/run links to the default (currently /run). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Sun Jun 1 2025 Ranjan Maitra <[email protected]> - 1.4.0-11 - replaced the linking file with magick to convert the .jxl files now used by Fedora for backgrounds. - consequently, brought in BuildRequires for ImageMagick and f42-backgrounds-base - incorporated Todd Zullinger's patch to drop /var/run/ in favor of __runstatedir__ and dropped slim-tmpfiles.conf -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "dnf" update program. Use su -c 'dnf upgrade --advisory FEDORA-2025-15a2823252' at the command line.
