Name : vala Product : Fedora 17 Version : 0.16.0 Release : 3.fc17 URL : http://live.gnome.org/Vala Summary : A modern programming language for GNOME Description : Vala is a new programming language that aims to bring modern programming language features to GNOME developers without imposing any additional runtime requirements and without using a different ABI compared to applications and libraries written in C. valac, the Vala compiler, is a self-hosting compiler that translates Vala source code into C source and header files. It uses the GObject type system to create classes and interfaces declared in the Vala source code. It's also planned to generate GIDL files when gobject- introspection is ready. The syntax of Vala is similar to C#, modified to better fit the GObject type system. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: - Update vala to stable 0.16.0 release. - Update vala-mode.el to April 2011 release - Fix registration of Vala alternatives - Disable coverage analysis, build-time paths get hard-coded and trigger warnings -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #797882 - vala-0.16.0 is available https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=797882 [ 2 ] Bug #799807 - please update vala-mode.el https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=799807 [ 3 ] Bug #809028 - alternatives symlinks are not updated when going from f16 to f17 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=809028 [ 4 ] Bug #809100 - lots of warnings when trying to run valac https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=809100 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "yum" update program.
