Name : gdb Product : Fedora 43 Version : 17.1 Release : 1.fc43 URL : https://gnu.org/software/gdb/ Summary : A GNU source-level debugger for C, C++, Fortran, Go and other languages Description : GDB, the GNU debugger, allows you to debug programs written in C, C++, Fortran, Go, and other languages, by executing them in a controlled fashion and printing their data. If you want to use GDB for development purposes, you should install the 'gdb' package which will install 'gdb-headless' and possibly other useful packages too. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: Rebase to FSF GDB 17.1. - Dropped gdb-fix-bg-execution-repeat.patch (now upstream) - Backported thread-specific-bp test fix (commit ce106639c20) - Disabled gdb-compile feature (broken, causes test timeouts) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Wed Jan 14 2026 Kevin Buettner <[email protected]> - 17.1-1 - Rebase to FSF GDB 17.1. Deleted: gdb-fix-bg-execution-repeat.patch - Backport upstream commit ce106639c20 from Tom de Vries, fixing a a gdb.threads/thread-specific-bp.exp failure. - Made spec file change to build gdb with --disable-gdb-compile due to this feature's brokenness. With it disabled, failing tests skip cleanly without timeouts. Also reduces binary size and attack surface. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #2427273 - GDB 17.1 rebase needed for Fedora 43 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2427273 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "dnf" update program.
