-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Update Notification FEDORA-2012-15004 2012-09-28 16:59:32 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : git Product : Fedora 18 Version : 1.7.12.1 Release : 1.fc18 URL : http://git-scm.com/ Summary : Fast Version Control System Description : Git is a fast, scalable, distributed revision control system with an unusually rich command set that provides both high-level operations and full access to internals. The git rpm installs the core tools with minimal dependencies. To install all git packages, including tools for integrating with other SCMs, install the git-all meta-package. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: Update to the latest maintenance release. Check /usr/share/doc/git/RelNotes for detailed list of changes. This update also fixes following bug: * cvsimport should skip more characters (BZ#850640) This is an upstream feature release. Refer to the release notes for details: https://raw.github.com/git/git/master/Documentation/RelNotes/1.7.12.txt There is now a git-p4 package which provides tools for working with Perforce depots. Also note that the '__git_ps1()' function, used for adding git information to the shell prompt, has been split into a separate file to allow it to work when using bash completion's on-demand loading. This change should be transparent to users as git-prompt.sh is placed in /etc/profile.d and should thus be sourced for normal login shells. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #850640 - cvsimport should skip more characters https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850640 [ 2 ] Bug #844008 - git p4 support is disabled when NO_PYTHON is enabled https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=844008 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "yum" update program.
