The interface for search providers changed entirely between gnome-shell 3.4 and 3.6. The old version required a single XML file whereas the new version requires 4 config files an a dbus daemon. I though I'd never write such a daemon, and so retired the package. However, I just finished writing it and would like to now unretire the package (sorry for the hassle).
