Silent rules suppress information which is necessary to evaluate whether a
package is being built correctly (e.g. include paths and defines), information
which is valuable to examine build.logs in case of build breakdowns.

Yes, verbosity is a must.

Correct, --disable-silent-rules enables building verbosity :-)
