For the record, I agree; there's nothing particularly wrong with catting those
simple files out from the spec, and as a bonus you get to use macro
substitutions if you want, which you often do.

Unfortunately I know pretty much nothing of mercurial (can barely handle git
and don't see the need for yet another VCS of that type) so I don't have any
real way to test this but I sure would like to see this finally get reviewed
after something like 20 months, so I guess I'll try to take a look.

However, while I can build this just fine, I can't install it because rawhide
has mercurial 2.6 and this explicitly requires mercurial < 2.6.  What to do?
