So I think it is viable to build from source. I'm not a sponsor, and I cannot sponsor you into the packager group. You'll have to find someone to do that. It would certainly be nice to polish this package so that it satisfies all guidelines, I'll by happy to help by doing further (informal) reviews of this package.
