I am in a similar situation as you do... not a developer... yet... and having resurrected (at least for me) 7kaa, about 1 or 2 months ago. I had/have the feeling that you have to come with your own package to request to become a Fedora developer, rathern than unretire... so as to show your skills. So I was/am still searching a project to package... and got entangled with the release of Fedora 32, and trying to catch up with the devel mailing list. I did use other distros info when I made my 7kaa package... in part for the description... that I stole from OpenSuse ... I think. Anyway...
