I made my own package and spec for it, used on my COPR [1]. Since upstream contains version RPi.GPIO2 in the name, I think it should be separate package anyway. According to comment #5, it was renamed and does not have to wait for original maintainer's approval. It just have to Conflicts: with it, because it provides python module of the same name. According to my tests, this is more useful than the old one, because it works on Fedora kernel.
