You can try patching the Makefile so it doesn't override them, or maybe just invoke gcc manually. https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#_compiler_flags The tq script requires that either tmux or screen are installed. This is not reflected in the package's Requires.
