%pyproject_save_files -l is _not_ yet available. The PR to add it is still
under review. There is no requirement to remove the %license from %files if
%pyproject_save_files handles it. The comment in the specfile says as much.

I can look into it, but that shouldn't block the review.

There is an unreleased change on the main branch that would allow this to work,
but the package uses setuptools_scm which does not work reliably with Git
archives, so I'm using the PyPI sdist which is also valid.
