I don't care about calling it "compat" in particular. In the FESCo meeting, I independently suggested that it could be named kwin-alt-x11, and that would be consistent with the other "alternative" descriptions I see in comments here. Whatever the new name is, I think this would solve most of the unease on both sides. Plain upgrades will work as the KDE SIG desires, and their continued Obsoletes still won't affect your new package name.
