            Bug ID: 2372674
           Summary: Review Request: smbldap-tools – Samba/LDAP account
                    management tools (revived for EPEL9)
           Product: Fedora EPEL
           Version: epel9
            Status: NEW
         Component: Package Review
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
        QA Contact: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---
    Classification: Fedora

Spec and SRPM are available at:

https://github.com/redadmin-k/smbldap-tools-almalinux9

This package was previously available in older Fedora/EPEL releases but has
been retired.
It remains useful for Samba + LDAP integration, particularly in public-sector
and enterprise environments (schools, government systems, etc.).

I have rebuilt and validated this package for EPEL9 compatibility and would
like to reintroduce it to the Fedora/EPEL ecosystem.

Built and tested on:
- Rocky Linux 9 (LXD container)
- Host OS: Ubuntu 24.04
- Kernel: 6.14.5-redadmin-kernel

This submission includes:
- Updated spec file
- Clean build with hardened flags
- Packaging compliant with EPEL guidelines

Thank you for your consideration.
