Bug ID: 2372860
Summary: Request to include finger in EPEL10
Product: Fedora EPEL
Version: epel10
Status: NEW
Component: Package Review
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
QA Contact: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora
Description of problem:
The `finger` utility is not currently available in EPEL10, though it exists in
Fedora. Some users and organizations still rely on `finger` for user presence
and status checks in legacy or educational environments.
How reproducible:
Always – missing in EPEL10 repos.
I have rebuilt the `finger` package for AlmaLinux 10 based on the Fedora source
RPM. The SPEC and SRPM are published and tested here:
https://github.com/redadmin-k/finger-almalinux10-rpm
Please consider including `finger` in EPEL10.
