[email protected] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] | |u --- Comment #106 from [email protected] --- Looks like on CoreOS even with Transient Root/ComposeFS enabled the package manager refuses to attempt installation. I'm not sure if there should be an override, an alternative special package, a separate repository... Are we waiting for some commit allowing `/nix` root directory via RPM to land or should I be using a specific repository for this? I've tried adding `https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/ublue-os/packages/repo/epel-10/ublue-os-packages-epel-10.repo` and also installing directly from RPM file from https://nix-community.github.io/nix-installers/ ``` $ sudo rpm-ostree install nix Checking out tree efbd637... done Enabled rpm-md repositories: updates fedora fedora-multimedia updates-archive Importing rpm-md... done rpm-md repo 'updates' (cached); generated: 2026-01-17T00:44:15Z solvables: 20163 rpm-md repo 'fedora' (cached); generated: 2025-10-23T03:37:20Z solvables: 77664 rpm-md repo 'fedora-multimedia' (cached); generated: 2026-01-16T08:52:02Z solvables: 421 rpm-md repo 'updates-archive' (cached); generated: 2026-01-17T01:05:08Z solvables: 25041 Resolving dependencies... done Will download: 5 packages (5.3 MB) Downloading from 'updates'... done Downloading from 'fedora'... done Importing packages... done error: importing RPMs: Importing package 'nix-system': Analyzing /nix/store: Unsupported path; see https://github.com/projectatomic/rpm-ostree/issues/233 ``` The path `/nix/store` is usable ``` $ sudo mkdir --parent /nix/store $ stat $_ File: /nix/store Size: 40 Blocks: 0 IO Block: 4096 directory Device: 0,40 Inode: 972 Links: 2 Access: (0755/drwxr-xr-x) Uid: ( 0/ root) Gid: ( 0/ root) Context: unconfined_u:object_r:user_tmp_t:s0 Access: 2026-01-18 10:26:05.113594281 +1000 Modify: 2026-01-18 10:26:05.113594281 +1000 Change: 2026-01-18 10:26:05.113594281 +1000 Birth: 2026-01-18 10:26:05.113594281 +1000 ``` ``` $ cat /etc/os-release NAME="Bluefin" VERSION="43.20260113 (Silverblue)" RELEASE_TYPE=stable ID=bluefin ID_LIKE="fedora" VERSION_ID=43 VERSION_CODENAME="Deinonychus" PRETTY_NAME="Bluefin (Version: 43.20260113)" ANSI_COLOR="0;38;2;60;110;180" LOGO=fedora-logo-icon CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:universal-blue:bluefin:43" DEFAULT_HOSTNAME="bluefin" HOME_URL="https://projectbluefin.io" DOCUMENTATION_URL="https://docs.projectbluefin.io" SUPPORT_URL="https://github.com/ublue-os/bluefin/issues/" BUG_REPORT_URL="https://github.com/ublue-os/bluefin/issues/" SUPPORT_END=2026-12-02 VARIANT="Silverblue" VARIANT_ID=bluefin OSTREE_VERSION='43.20260113' BUILD_ID="b29c4eb" IMAGE_ID="bluefin" IMAGE_VERSION="43.20260113" $ uname -a Linux 2403-580a-e4b1-0-f977-6674-b8f6-1edd.ip6.aussiebb.net 6.17.11-300.fc43.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Mon Dec 8 23:20:36 UTC 2025 x86_64 GNU/Linux ``` -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
