Oh, and /home/mjhammel/src/netapp/bitbucket/ember2/src/work/minimal/virtualbox-output is a directory, it exists but it has nothing in it. It *may* have been cleaned out by the original pass that had a different error (I'm rerunning that one now in a different tree to see if I can identify that error).
