That I'm not sure about as I've not tried to change anything apart from 
adding an additional interface. You can trust them to be consistent, at 
least.

For VMware compatibility, is that "doesn't work" or "isn't supported?". 
There's lots of additional options which work, but aren't supported by 
VMware.
