hi.. i'm not sure if this a question for ubuntu, vmware or packer. cause either one of those could be the culprit.
i'm creating an ubuntu version 18.04.05 in vsphere template, during the creation i'm using "hostnamectl set-hostname " to some generic name (the reason is that i want it to always be different from /etc/hosts file, long story with dns and java) the strange thing is that i've noticed that whatever hostname i use actually gets updated automatically in our dns server, and i know it's a dns server and not my own cache, cause i can reach that hostname from other machines which never had access to it. what am i missing? -- This mailing list is governed under the HashiCorp Community Guidelines - https://www.hashicorp.com/community-guidelines.html.
