Hello list, I setup the HA solution for packetfence as proposed in the admin guide using heartbeat and pacemaker. That's working great. Our HP2910al (and most of current switch HW, I believe) is capable of checking a second radius server if the first one is not working. Radiusd being the most vital part of packetfence keeping a status quo even if the rest of the packetfence framework is not running I thought it would be nice to have a second radius server running outside the packetfence framework just serving radius requests for the switches. However I failed trying that because the radius process wants a connection to the webfrontend of the packetfence framework, which is not running on that localhost of course.
So my question is what is that connection for and, if not vital, how do I keep the radius server from trying to connect. I am not certain, if I made myself clear, so if you have questions I am happy to answer them. My goal is to have a second dumb radius server just connecting to our replicated mysql service and keep things running while the packetfence service is not available.
