Hi everyone
Sorry to ask a really basic question about installing packetfence.
In packetfence installation guide It said
Confgure the virtual machine
Create three virtual network cards. They should be linked to
/dev/vmnet0, /dev/vmnet2 and
/dev/vmnet3. This way, the PacketFence ZEN virtual appliance will obtain
three separate NICs
which are able to communicate in VLANs 1, 2 and 3.
My question is, I am used 3 NIC on my Host (eth0,eth1 and eth2)
Which one is correct in make a bridge network
Eth0(host) ---- /dev/vmnet0
Eth1(host) ----/dev/vmnet2
Eth2(host) ---/dev/vmnet3
Or
Eth0(host) ---- /dev/vmnet0
Eth0.2(host) ----/dev/vmnet2
Eth0.3(host) ---/dev/vmnet3
Second question
in my current configuration
I am used the first one, eth0 plug to the trunk port on my catalyst
3750,eth1 plug into fa1/0/2 and configure as vlan 2(registration) , eth2
plug into fa1/0/3 and configure as vlan 3(isolation)
Both dhcpd service and named service run well, and I am try to run
/usr/local/pf/test/connect_and_read.pl also run well, my packetfence
were able to read vlan on my catalyst but why my snmpwalk test return
with "No Response from 192.168.1.10" ?
And also why my client can have an ip from dhcp ?
Help me please..
Thank u
