Well I worked on this most of the afternoon and am just stuck......

I started off just routing to these interfaces from my core router. I then,
after you mentioned it, decided to try to trunk 802.1q to the interface and
created the subinterfaces and assigned them to vlans, still nogo.

Jake, about your questions below, no that is not my whole dhcp config, I had 2
remote networks defined as well. Would it be possible for you to share your
config files with me? I know that the ranges would be different but that
shouldnt be a problem. I'll be back on this tomorrow!

Thanks!
Ben

HA! You beat me to it : )

Ok it looks like DHCPD is complaining that it doesn't like your eth4 config,
are you sure that eth4's IPs and such are set correctly? Also look @ this forum
post:

http://forums.fedoraforum.org/archive/index.php/t-82796.html

It talks about the config for dhcpd, if what you posted is your entire config
file then you're missing a section.

1 thing about your DHCP config, your router statement is not on the same
subnet as the leases, I may be mistaken but I don't think that will work very
well as it will be setting the default-gateway of your clients to an
unreachable address...

Hey Ben,

How are you trying to start the dhcp daemon? What happens when you try to run
/use/local/pf/bin/pfcmd service pf restart? Can you copy and paste out output?

As a side question, do you have static routes for your virtual interfaces set
up on your PF box?

Subject: [Packetfence-users] Problem getting dhcpd to start, CentOS5.5

I cannot get dhcpd to start on my CentOS installation. I have verified that my
/usr/local/pf/conf/dhcpd.conf file has been created properly and while
monitoring /var/log/messages I see dhcpd start with no errors but then it
exits. I've tried to get it to start with PF and without by copying the
dhcpd.conf file to /etc/dhcpd.conf as well.. same results.

Anyone have any ideas? Below are my config files, if anything else is needed to
figure it out please let me know!
