Hello,

Have a look in lib/pf/vlan/custom.pm. At the end, you will see the method shouldAutoRegister. There is already a basic example in order to auto-register devices that are connected using EAP.

Hello,
i configured Packetfence with the help of the guide for using 802.1x with FreeRadius.

In my current configuration, the client (Windows 7) connect to the switch and gets an 801.x offer to insert the username und password. After data insert, the switch check the data against the radius server on the packetfence and throw the client in vlan 97 (registration).

*Mar 6 01:03:46.156: %DOT1X-5-SUCCESS: Authentication successful for client (0024.e8f1.5634) on Interface Gi0/3 AuditSessionID C0A80A03 0000002C19FA276B *Mar 6 01:03:46.156: %AUTHMGR-7-RESULT: Authentication result 'success' from 'dot1x' for client (0024.e8f1.5634) on Interface Gi0/3 Aud itSessionID C0A80A030000002C19FA276B *Mar 6 01:03:46.156: %AUTHMGR-5-VLANASSIGN: VLAN 97 assigned to Interface Gi0/3 AuditSessionID C0A80A030000002C19FA276B *Mar 6 01:03:46.475: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/3, changed state to up *Mar 6 01:03:47.197: %AUTHMGR-5-SUCCESS: Authorization succeeded for client (0024.e8f1.5634) on Interface Gi0/3 AuditSessionID C0A80A03 0000002C19FA276B *Mar 6 01:03:47.482: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet0/3, changed state to up

The Windows 7 Clients shows a popup to authenticate the user against the server with the help of the captive portal. But this is a double check (802.1x and CaptivePortal)

How can i configurate, if the user use 801.x and the access is successfull, that he doesn´t need to authenticate double.

Thank you for your help!!

Tobi
