Thanks Olivier,
Editing the login.html and replacing it with an auto redirect onto my setup 
website seems to have done the trick.

Not sure what you mean.. They still have to fill the login form to register?

You could strip out the html/captive-portal/templates/login.html and modify it 
so it doesn't have a form and it just give instructions to the users. This is 
the first page shown to users and if there's no button, clients will be 
effectively stuck on that page.
